Where to Eat & Shop in South Lake Tahoe

1)      Car Rental: I recommend you rent a 4x4 from a car rental if coming from the Airport. The drive from Reno to the house is about 45-60 min and you will still need a car to get around once you are in town.

2)      Skiing/Riding at Heavenly Ski Resort

a.       Stagecoach Lodge - The best Heavenly lodge for advanced skiing is the Stagecoach Lodge. Once you are at the house, you will already be half way up the mountain. The lodge is 1 mile away; make sure you get there when they open as the parking lot fills up. All the locals (including me) go to this lodge because it is the fastest way up.

b.      Boulder Lodge - If you have beginners with you, go to the Boulder Lodge (the next lodge over on the NV side). There they have lessons and a beginner run before you head up the mountain.

c.       Advanced Skiing - Once there, you want to make sure you make your way to Mott Canyon. This is where all the Black Diamond runs are.

d.      On the Mountain - Once you are on the mountain, you can ski back and forth between the CA and NV side. I prefer the NV side, but the CA has the breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe. The CA side also has a 5 mile run.  The NV side will be less crowded but still has nice Carson Valley views.
